Episode 26 - California Dreamin'

Episode 26 Video

What We're Wearing:

* Linda is wearing Mama Cowl and Cade Hat

* Brianne is wearing a cowl made out of her first handspun yarns

The calendar app Brianne uses is called Cozi and it is AMAZING!!!

What We're Knitting:

* Linda is knitting Something Red sweater

* Brianne is knitting the Featherweight cardigan, House Cup socks and Sockhead Hat.



What Came Off The Needles:

* Linda finished Mama Cowl, a crocheted infinity scarf turned into a cowl by starting with only 120 chains.  Designed by Nerri Pango.   Also finished Cade cap by Heidi May.  Both crocheted in Cascade 220 Color 2442.  Also completed Handy Hearts from Handspun!

* Brianne finished a cowl made out of her first handspun yarns! The yarn is BFL.


Spinning!:

* Linda made Cocoon Yarn and spun art yarn from Rolags. Instructions from "A Spinners Book of Yarn Designs" by Sarah Anderson.

* Brianne finished the second half of the green Malabrigo merino


Gilding The Lily:

* Brianne received a lovely swap package from Stephanie (HotPinkSocks) and included was some Falkland wool along with some other fun things! Thank you so much, Stephanie!


It's a Good Thing!:

* Brianne and Linda both love knitting friends, near and far, on the Internet or in real life


Contest:

For the rest of January and February we’re going to be focusing on wrangling our Works In Progress (WIP) into submission. You can do that in two ways. 1) You can finish the project. 2) You can unravel (aka: rip out) the project.
Rules:
You may only have one post in this thread but as many projects as you like inside of that post. Just keep editing it to add projects!
Please provide a link to your Ravelry project page for this project, as well as provide a picture. We want to keep this fair for everyone!
This thread will close on February 28th and the winner will be chosen by Random Number Generator on March 1st. Mama Linda and I will be WIPing along with you, but we are not eligible for the prize, which is a beautiful cable needle from Wolfe Farms

In the Month of March we are going to knit something that is inspired by something that someone else has knit! You can knit something in the same pattern, color, yarn... any way that you can match it then you can count it as part of this knitalong!

Episode 25 - Twinsies

What We're Wearing:

* Linda is wearing Night Sky Hat and Vanilla Cowl

* Brianne is wearing Northside Pullover

* GUEST:  Christina Wall who is Christinawall on Ravelry.  "Aknitterslife" on Instagram.  She is from Indiana and hosts a "A Knitter's Life" Podcast on YouTube.  She is also a designer of 48 lovely designs available on Ravelry.   


Question:   What is your favorite handknit?   She chose 4! Hat, Mittens, Scarf, and a Sweater!!!!   Yowza she is an AMAZING knitter.  

* Linda loves her Night Sky Hat!   What a shock.  Lol. 

* Brianne loves her Northside Sweater


What We're Knitting:

* Linda is knitting Hearts! Hearts! Hearts! She is planning on writing up the pattern for these soon!

* Brianne is knitting Sockhead hat, Featherweight Cardigan and a baby hat for a friend



What Came Off The Needles:

* Linda finished more Hearts


Spinning!:

* Linda is spinning The 100th Sheep "Antique Rose" colorway!   It's LOVE, for sure!!!

* Brianne spun 2 oz of Malabrigo Nube (100% Merino) in the Candombe color way . (Ooops! I said the wrong colorway name!)


Gilding The Lily:

* Linda received a box of spin-ables from The 100th Sheep!  Time to rev up my espinner and take off!

#34 jabberwok says... When I was diagnosed with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) six years ago, I chose joy by concentrating on the C for chronic and thought of all the knitting and other craft hobbies I should be able to continue to enjoy. Since then, our daughter has blessed us with two beautiful grandboys who bring so much joy to our lives.

* Linda is choosing joy by taking better care of her health.  Sun, Vitamins, and stairs!

* Brianne is choosing joy by wearing her hand knits!

Episode 24 - "Beh-Beh?"


Thank you so much for joining us for Episode 24. Today is Friday, 1/30/15

What We're Wearing:

* Linda is wearing the cowl she made from the yarn she spun from Peggy at the 100th Sheep

* Brianne is wearing the Traveling Woman shawl



Gooseberries:

* Linda got her mammogram and bone density scan today. Take care of yourselves!!!

* Brianne seeing the final movie in the series of The Hobbit on IMAX



What We're Knitting:

* Linda is knitting scissor fob/needle holder in the shape of hearts that she is going to sell

* Brianne is knitting Featherweight, Sockhead


What Came Off The Needles:

* Linda finished more crocheted cowls!


* Brianne finished Ms Wick


Spinning!:

* Linda spun a white and green yarn with some striped areas. She's been finding ways to use little bits of wool. She also played with a tighter ply. Linda noticed that it lost a lot of it's squishiness.

* Brianne plied a skein of white BFL. It looks significantly better than her first skein of yarn.  Yay! Plying, washing and thwacking cover a multitude of sins!


Are You Kidding Me?!:

* Mom un-knit more than she knit

* Brianne found plying using the inner and outer of a single skein to be really difficult


Gilding The Lily:

* Brianne went crazy with her Christmas money at The Loopy Ewe


It's a Good Thing!:

* Linda watched a series on Netflix called World War II: The Last Heroes.

* Brianne is so happy that Owen got another clean bill of health from his oncologist and that he will be able to get his port-a-cath removed after April!
